We are a group of people sharing a love of the dulcimer and folk music. This site is another way to reach out to each other and to new people who are interested in this music and acoustic instruments. We have members who play autoharp, guitar, bass, mountain dulcimer, hammer dulcimer, whistle, and percussion.This site will have information of interest to club members. Check it out. |

Our Club's History
Standing Stone Strings & Things (SSST) met for the first time on June 25, 1993, at Rising Park in Lancaster, Ohio. SSST met several times at the Ohio University-Lancaster branch campus, then moved to its current home at First English Lutheran Church. The club's name refers to Mt. Pleasant in Lancaster's Rising Park, also known as The Standing Stone. Members have come from all over the southeastern and central parts of Ohio. The current membership includes beginners to experienced performers and teachers.
SSST has done public and private performances across central and southeastern Ohio. These include Roscoe Village Dulcimer Days, The Lancaster Festival and LilyFest. Smaller groups of the members have performed at the Dulcimer Doin's and Dulci-More festivals. SSST has also sponsored several house concerts and workshops.
Harmony Harvest, started in 1994, has grown into a well known regional festival. Attendees have come from as far away as Alabama, Georgia and Washington state. Performers and teachers have included Steven Seifert, Susan Trump, Maureen Sellers, Jerry Rockwell, Lesley Miller, Joe Collins and Guy George.
After 12 years, SSST is as strong as ever, thanks to all who have helped to perpetuate the club over the years and who will carry it into the future.

Start looking forward to the 14th Harmony Harvest. Mark your calendars for September 14. 15. 16 2007. This festival is held at the Fairfield County Fairgrounds in Lancaster, Ohio. Alyce is working with Butch Ross to be our featured performer. Volunteer to help make our festival a success. We need someone to oversee the set up of general parking and camper parking.
